"scream 2" - location agent, decatur
JUNE 1997 "Scream 2," part of one of the most successful horror film series ever, not only broke box-office records of the time but some critics argued was actually superior to the original, itself receiving strong reviews for its genre. Primarily filmed on-location at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, I was the Location Agent, representing the college in all pre-production phases and on set production. I scouted locations with producers and director Wes Craven; negotiated with the studio the contract (which would become a template several state film offices would come to adopt) and supervised all sets. Given the duration and size of this set, I was able to further develop opportunities around film-making on behalf of Agnes Scott including supervising a few dozen students and community members who were able to play bit parts and extras on screen; managing a team of student interns who would receive on-screen credit (the first time in the history of Disney — Miramax Films was owned by Disney); and organizing the 'east coast premiere' with a private screening for the college community (see last image, a brochure which promoted the screening). Here are clips of scenes at Miramax's website (copy and paste link in browser) shot at Agnes Scott including: "Think I Love You," "You'll Never Be the Leading Man," "Diane Sawyer," "It's Worth a Look" and "What Am I Supposed to Do?" http://www.miramax.com/movie/scream-2/ (Click on first image for a slideshow to more easily view large images as thumbnails.)
