Ghostwriters are bound by contracts to keep their contributions confidential and cannot reveal the work in portfolios or otherwise. The bylines typically belong to CEOs, VPs of Communications, journalists, and other prominent figures. Many clients were leading brands or international media outlets.
My goal in ghostwriting was not only to create a new income stream but also to collaborate with established industry content and journalism editors to hone my writing skills. Between 2017 and 2022, I worked for three agencies and a personal client, a business executive. Two agencies were based in the United States (NY and NC), and one was in Poland with an extensive European client list. Over this period, I ghostwrote approximately 600 pieces.
The formats I worked on were diverse, including web copy, blogs, white papers, brochure copy, advertising copy, report content, press releases, announcements, video scripts, speeches, proposals, presentations, case studies, feature articles, journalistic pieces, training materials, technical writing, backgrounders, explainers, how-tos, listicles, business writing, emails, and more.
The content spanned a wide range of topics: photography, education, healthcare (including COVID-19 research and news), writing, sports, history, politics, cuisine, marketing strategy, and various technology subjects such as AI, cybersecurity, DevOps, FinTech, crypto, big data analytics, cloud migration, UX design, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the Analytics of Things (AoT).
